Do you have any of these symptoms:

Sensitivity to perfume, diesel exhaust or the detergent isle of the grocery store? Some scents bother you that didn't before.
Fatigue, or muscle weakness (arms get tired when you wash your hair)?

No interest in sex.  Too tired to try to have sex.

Exhausted after shopping in stores (poor air quality), the tire store smells of rubber.
Clothing tags drive you crazy in your shirts and must be cut out?

Short term memory loss, new ADD symptoms, difficulty reading? Reddened face?

Frequent headaches, fatigue  or allergic symptoms  to foods, newspapers, down pillows, wine, cats, moldy buildings?

Psychiatric issues – Depression, Anxiety, Mania, or OCD, stressed?

In 2000 Doctor Lisa Nagy (see Lisa's Story) became sick with these type of symptoms and did not recognize that she had Chemical Sensitivity because she was not taught about it in medical school - no doctors are! Now somewhat better, she is trying to educate both the lay public and medical practitioners about the ubiquity of the range of conditions called environmental illnesses.

The severely chemically sensitive individuals like herself may be the 'tens' on the scale above but many of us are also affected to some extent by environmental exposures including foods allergies. The field of Environmental Medicine is really a misnomer because it deals not only with toxins in the environment (mold, pesticides, formaldehyde) but also with our nutrition, hormones, neurotransmitters, and genetics, leading to immune, neurologic as well as psychiatric manifestations of these conditions.

In fact once you learn to think like an environmental doctor you see that many conditions like autism, diabetes, hypertension, inflammatory bowel disease, and rosacea are the body's response to these influences which can be altered to make the patient better without the permanent use of medication.

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine has trained hundreds of doctors in this field over the last 30 years who treat these unfortunate patients who no one else can manage nor believe. Chemical Sensitivity is acknowledged by (HSS) Social Security as potentially disabling but still the AMA does not believe these are valid conditions - we must change this this year please help in any way you can.
